Tuesday, March 9, 2010 - The weekend started with an inside investigation on Maple Street at 12:51 hours on Friday afternoon. Engine 8-1-1 on the scene first taking side Alpha investigation with Chief 8-1 (RYNO) arriving with the Command. Crews located an electrical problem and secured the power holding the assignment to Engine 8-1-1. The next call came late Friday night for the reported Apartment Building in the 8-1 first due on Locust Street. A heavy smoke condition was encountered by the first arriving Engine with the fire out as a result of burnt cooking. Truck 8-1 set up positive pressure ventilation on scene. Throughout the day on Saturday the volunteers responded to an MVA with reported injuries at Route 30 and 441 providing fire suppression and debris clean up services and then Truck 8-1 responded to the local nursing / apartment complex for a reported fire alarm activation. On Sunday during training the full station was due for a reported smoke condition at the local nursing home. Truck 8-1 enroute full crew with Chief 8-1 (RYNO) on scene with Operations reporting an electrical fire with the fire out. Truck 8-1 provided positive pressure ventilation.
Throughout the weekend Chief Ryno attended an all day ISO Seminar at LCPSTC on Saturday and numerous members attended Special Vehicle Rescue Class at Wrightsville all day Sunday. In addition, a number of members manned the weekly Bingo Program Saturday evening.
